About me
I’m Alfonsina
I am a Certified Wayfinder Life Coach, multi-faceted artist, teacher, TEDx speaker, storyteller, and mindfulness practitioner. I have worn many hats. You can blame my insatiable curiosity for following things I am passionate about.
I am a writer and painter but have played in various disciplines, including photography, music, and cooking. Creativity has always been my language of choice to communicate with the world and reflect on what I see, later transforming it into pieces that inspire others to enrich our human experiences and connection. Regardless of the medium, I realized that creativity flows abundantly as long as I stay connected to my authentic self.
That is when all the exploration I have done in my artistic career and spiritual journey interlaced. I became a Life Coach in Martha Beck’s Wayfinder program because I wanted to help others connect to their most authentic selves so that they could also find their purpose, fulfillment, joy, and abundant creativity and intuition. I strongly believe in the undeniable wisdom we can access once we are willing to look inside and pay attention to what our souls desire. When we live authentically and with integrity, we find fulfillment and gain the power to make our wildest dreams come true. But that magic is only available when we are able to do our part, and coaching offers excellent tools to guide our journey. Martha Beck’s books helped me connect all the puzzle pieces of my purpose, and I am very passionate about assisting others in their path toward their North Star.
As a writer, I create inspirational articles on resilience, spirituality, and self-growth with touches of storytelling, depth, and humor. I recently finished a novel, Unwritten in the Stars, that explores how grief can be a catalyst for helping us find our souls’ paths. Previously, I wrote a non-fiction book, Found by Love. I presented “How I discovered my purpose in the back of a school bus” at a TEDx conference, went on stage at The Moth in New York City, and participated in several storytelling events.
As a realist painter, I love to depict my subjects’ essence and stories. As a photographer, I developed several photo documentaries and earned several awards. My goal is that viewers are moved and transformed by aesthetics and the level of humanity. My latest adventure is Intuitive Collective, a platform to inspire people to use their creativity and intuition for personal growth through articles, circles of trust, and retreats.
Besides creativity, I am very passionate about bringing people together around experiences that make them live in the present while building a sense of community.
I earned a BA in Visual Arts (summa cum laude) with a minor in Art History from Pine Manor College. I was lucky to know I wanted to be an artist from a very young age. I started receiving private instruction in portraiture with two well-known Latin American painters as a teenager. Since then, I have been very fortunate to study with prominent masters such as Antonio Lopez Garcia, Steven Assael, Jeremy Lipking, Hollis Dunlap, Mary Ellen Mark, and Kristan Higgins (Yale Writer’s Conference). My award-winning work has been exhibited throughout the United States, including at the Wausau Museum of Contemporary Art, New Haven Museum, and Centro Fotográfico Manuel Alvarez Bravo (Mexico), and my work is part of different collections worldwide.
As an active member of my community, I proudly serve on the board of The Seven Acres Montessori School and previously served on Pine Manor College and New Haven Paint & Clay Club boards. I also enjoy practicing yoga, working out, meditation, reading, playing instruments, cooking for my loved ones, dancing, and incorporating intuition as an active part of my life.
